These following steps are first step to create a database using Microsoft Access 2007.

Open Microsoft Access 2007

Click Blank Database to create new database.
We can chose template that has been provided by Microsoft Access. Because we want to learn Microsoft Access from the beginning, I suggest we chose Blank Database.

Give a name for our new database then click create.
Then, Access will automatically direct us to new table in datasheet view.
Access gives us a field named “ID”. Don’t worry, we can modify this field according to our need by following the steps below.

Based on picture above:
  1. To create field name, just double click “Add New Field” then enter a name. Use a descriptive name so that the field will be easier to identify.
  2. Enter data in new field.
  3. Describe the data type.
  4. If we want to set our data into a unique data, then click “unique”. And if we want to force user to fill the field, then click “is required”.
  5. Click save and give a name to our new table.
